More on Neuro-Linguistic Programming
In the preceding treatment workshops there have been many references to NLP techniques with which you are probably not familiar, and there is no reason why you should be. 🙂 On the other hand, NLP was in important part of our lives “back when” and, if you are treatment-oriented, it is worth learning about – probably fourth only to psychoanalytic psychotherapy, the energy therapies, and ABA. However, I have given most of my NLP books away, so I am not going to try to explain the Swish Pattern, Change History, the Visual Squash, Future Pacing, Belief (re-) Training, and so on. I will say that changing beliefs (and values) turns around the basic NLP question of “How do you do that?” (Once you know how something is done, you can choose to do it or not, and that applies to believing something, and valuing something, just as to to any other activity.) If there is something specific that you would like me to address further, please let me know. Reference has been made to hypnosis, and I may say a word or two more about that – 9 December 2013 and following did provide quite a good introduction to the subject.
