And “wouldn’t it be loverly,” or at least interesting, if anxiety were a major factor in the behaviours exhibited by individuals with autism (as I am convinced that it is). Of course, the behavioural methods more-or-less invented and demonstrated by my friend Doud Quirk hardly fall within the usual ABA paradigm, but at least we have begun using relaxation training, classical music, and yoga with some of our children. So far, I haven’t convinced anyone to venture much beyond that.
