Teaching Children with Autism – Politics
I have been wondering whether anyone involved in designing the Ontario government’s latest plan for the treatment of autism (i.e., ASD) stands to benefit financially from it. For example, will Premier Wynne’s spouse benefit financially from any of the pilot projects? Will the Minister of Children and Youth Services benefit in any way? The same question arises with respect to any of the members of the Expert Panel whose work was referenced by the government in planning to test four different programs, presumably at four different sites. Does any member of the panel personally benefit from testing any of these partcular treatment approaches? I ask these questions because I think that any such benefit would be a conflict of interest for anyone who was involved in arriving at the particular plan that the government is proposing to implement starting in May.
