This morning, Tracie Lindblad, one of my ABA heroes, posted to Facebook an article by Karen Mahon on Balefirelabs.com which has rated more than 5,000 apps, not on how much fun they are but on their instructional quality and usability. Instead of opinions by well meaning teachers and parents, Karen and another BCBA, her former roommate Missy Reed (also a former Julie Vargas student) developed a rubric for reliably rating apps according to instructional quality. It is worth checking out.
