Last weekend, my youngest daughter got married. It was a beautiful wedding. They opted to get married on a friend’s farm. Catering included a pig roast – vegetarian fare for those who don’t indulge – and a variety of very good salads. Short speeches, games, and dancing. Participation by her children.
The weather reports for the past couple of weeks had been predicting rain for Saturday and, for a change, the weather reports were right. My wife had been worrying herself sick over it, but it all worked out well in the end. The ceremony was at three o’clock and it didn’t rain until about 3:30, by which time almost everyone was happily ensconced in the barn. The wedding party was still having their pictures taken, but at a covered bridge, and the downpour actually added something special to the occasion. We were truly blessed. We are truly blessed.
